Karobran and Karingal Farms have modern, separate facilities for single males,
females and families, with singles living on a share basis with
other students.
At
Karobran Farm there are several Family Units Available, these range
from Two bedroom to four bedroom houses, and there are a number of
share Houses for Single men. At Karingal Farm there is a Dormentry
style Accommodation, with Bedrooms for 2-3 Women and there are 2,
two bedroom Rooms.
Finance and Facts:

Students pay 90% of their Centrelink benefit towards rent each
week with children negotiable. This covers the cost of the
programme and includes everything except toiletries, personal
items, phone calls and cigarettes.

Incoming students MUST submit a bond fee, which is
non-refundable, if the student leaves within the first six (6)
weeks or if damage is done to Karobran New Life Centre.
Departure requires a 48-hour notification to the Directors.

All students are on sickness benefits when beginning the
programme, they are then placed on a Job Search Allowance after
they have completed the program and have entered the elective
level of the programme. Karobran manages each students
financial matters until the student reaches level 3 in the
programme, whereby the students earns the privilege of personal
management of his/her finances.

New Life Centre:

Finance:
-
Bond and 1 Week Rent Must be
paid prior to the students arrival at Karobran or Karingal
Farms.

All rent is to be paid one week in advance.

Students borrow and lend money to other students at their own
risk. KNLC takes no responsibility for lost, stolen or borrowed
money.

No
staff is permitted to lend money to any student for any
reason.

If
you require finance, write requests on a “student follow up
slip” and place it in the requests box, located out the front of
the Karobran Farm office.

All bank account books, key cards and credit cards must be
handed into the Main office upon arrival.

No
credit is available unless approved by the Managing Director.
Bedrooms:
-
Students are responsible for the cleaning of their own rooms
thoroughly at least twice a week.

Beds are to be made prior to breakfast, or before 8.00am each
weekday morning and 10.00am on weekends.

Sheets must be changed and washed every week.
-
Respect of other student’s right to privacy, especially the
students sharing a room with you.

Student’s are not allowed into each other’s bedrooms.

No
articles are to be placed on the walls, doors etc. Only on pin
up boards provided. Blue Tack, sticky tape and glue, is strictly
not allowed.

Breakages or damages need to be reported to the staff via the
“follow up slip”, so they can be fixed as soon as possible.

For the work/crafts program a person will be appointed daily to
supervise and issue the equipment required.

Failure to return borrowed equipment used for programs will
result in the offender, at the Directors discretion being given
a discipline measure.
Smoking:
-
Jireh: Eastern end of the building next to the rainwater tank.

McKeddish: On the concrete area at the eastern end of the
building or on seats at the back of the building.

Nissi: On the seats located on the back verandah of the building.
-
Shalom: Back door by laundry, on patio only.
-
Rapha: On the back concrete patio area.
-
Students are only allowed to smoke in their allocated smoke
zone.
-
Students are strictly not to smoke when walking due to laws
pertaining to fire, the country land and the dangers that this
can cause.
